What your team actually receives

When Aftercomm flags an outbound message, this is what lands in your reviewers’ inboxes: enough to decide whether to act right now, and no message content whatsoever.

Why the alert is deliberately thin

An email, once sent, is permanent, forwardable and unrevocable. A compliance inbox that accumulates flagged message content becomes the single most valuable mailbox in the company — an AI has pre-selected the most sensitive mail your organisation sends and put a copy of it somewhere new.

So the alert carries the verdict, never the message. The AI’s reasoning is written to describe the concern without quoting the email, which makes it safe to send and still enough to triage. When a reviewer needs to read the message itself, they open it in Aftercomm — where it is fetched from Microsoft 365 on request, shown, and dropped, with the view recorded in an audit log.

One message flagged

Severity first, then who sent it and which risk categories matched, then the AI’s explanation. A reviewer can tell from this alone whether something needs attention now.

Discloses non-public quarterly financial figures and headcount reductions to a wide distribution that includes recipients outside the company. This appears to breach disclosure controls and could constitute selective disclosure.

Aftercomm · AI compliance review for outbound communications
Alerts carry the verdict, never the message. The body is never stored by Aftercomm — it stays in your Microsoft 365 and is fetched only when a signed-in reviewer opens it, with every view logged.
Workspace admins: tune the compliance policy if this was the wrong call · change alert cadence or severity threshold if these arrive too often.

Several flagged at once

A busy afternoon never becomes a burst of email. Flags found together arrive as one alert, highest severity first. The same layout carries your daily digest.

Remarks about a team member’s age and their suitability for an upcoming role were sent to a group distribution list rather than raised through an HR channel. This is the kind of statement that is later read back as evidence of a discriminatory basis for a personnel decision.

Notes on these previews

  • • Buttons are shown exactly as they appear but are inert here — they only resolve inside a live workspace.
  • • The sending employee’s address is included because it is what makes an alert actionable. Recipients are not: they can be people outside your organisation.
  • • Attachments are reported as a count. Filenames aren’t in the alert because they aren’t stored at all — “Q3-Financials-CONFIDENTIAL.xlsx” tells a reader nearly as much as the body would, so it is dropped with the body after review.
  • • Severity colour is consistent across the accent bar, eyebrow and chips, so the shape of a busy day is readable at a glance.
  • • The digest cadence batches low and medium flags only — by default into one email a day. A high-severity flag never waits for it: it is sent as soon as the check that found it finishes.
  • • Policy and cadence links sit in the footer rather than beside the primary button — they are admin-only settings changes, not triage actions.
